Dramasetter Review: Summer Arcade 2009

As we went through yet another drought of lukewarm releases this summer, as usual, Xbox did what they do best: bring out big guns for their already impressive XLBA collection. This summer saw the release of 5 titles that went everywhere from nostaglic arcade to hopefully a brand new IP that we'll see more of to a near perfect side scroller adventure game. Here's my Quick recap:

'Splosion Man:
THE GOOD:

• Simple gameplay,simple storyline, and simple controls
• Dont let the simplistic fool you, yes this game gets really challenging after a few levels
• Unlocks avater awards including clothings for your avater and gamer pics
• Just a shit load of fun...play it and you wont get disappointed

5 out of 5>>>MUST BUY
Marvel vs. Capcom 2:
THE GOOD:

• Its MvC2 baby, cmon.
• Online Play , finally

THE BAD:

• Everything is unlocked from the begining. All characters are there as well as thier levels and colors. They obviously made this game strickley from online only. Sucks they take the replayablity out.
• The online rooms takes awhile at times

TMNT: Turtles in Time HD
THE BAD:

• OK this is NOT TURTLES IN TIME FROM THE SNES. This is actually the arcade version which once owned until the far superior SNES counterpart.
• Only 8 levels compared to almost doubled the amount on the SNES.
• The HD makeover is just horrible with graphics looking like a reject from a Pixar film.
• Difficult is to easy
• Point blank get the SNES version

Trails HD
The Good:

• A surprise hit. Think about a puzzle game involving stunt bikes.
• The range of difficulty goes from hard to impossible giving this a massive replay value.
• Diffrent bikes, tournaments, and levels is another replay value boost.

Shadow Complex
The Good:

• Metiod- Vania at its best. Action/adventure game dont get any better then this. Exploration, hidden areas,kick ass power ups....you cant wrong.
• Graphics and Movie scences are up to par to even some on disc game
• Music is ctachy and chessy but perfect for a game like this
• Cool weapons and power-ups especially as the game progesses
  
• Everything is perfect.........except......

The Bad:

• WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE STORYLINE????? Where is the storyline? What the fuck is this game about? Who cares? This game still kicks ass
