Prototype.....A Masterpiece or A Flop??...A Dramasetter Video Game Review

Ok so its here people the game that everyone has been waiting for,the game that video game forums have been praising about and fanboys have been comparing to(inFamous).So does this game have wait it takes to be a classic?Well......................................
STORY:
The story is basically a "Who am I and why am i here?" as the main story folds out through the game. Alex Mercer begins in Time Square were the whole city is against him and hes going ape shit and no one knows why. Alex is then cornered in the rooftops where he re-tells the story of whats been happening in the previous 18 days. Soon after you down to square one and you are stripped from your super powers. Prototype has an intresting way of telling a story and very unique. Rather then folding out in progression of the game, you also find pieces of Alex's backstory by taking over peoples mind throughout the city.About 80 or so people are scattered around for you to find.Unique by far, but the fact is that the storyline itself is very confusing making it boring at times. I have mention this in the podcast before and the story itself is one of the weakest part of this game.
GRAPHICS/MUSIC:
In the graphics department its defintley not the best next gen graphics that will blow you away. At times the game gets buggy and theres a few pop ups here and there. Graphically out of all the New York based games out there this is the best no doubt about it. In the music department its good. The theme and mood of how u play and where you at intenstifies the musical score. Overall I enjoyed it.
GAMEPLAY:
Where the game fails at a storyline makes up in gamplay.FUN///FUN///FUN!!!!!!The powers he has are incredible.Claws that come from the floors,hands that turn it stones,the power to morph into anyone, etc..will have you playing for hours. You get to hijack tanks,break down helicopters and use them as weapons,scale buildings,glide,grind,stealth,i mean cant this guy do. The gameplay is so fluid it makes spider man games be put to shame. This game plays like if spiderman/the incrideble hulk/assasian creed/crackdown games were mutated and out came Prototype. I mean its that good. With 31 missions and massive replay value only if you wanna know every inch of Alex's story there's no way you will put down the controller without thinking whats going to happen next.
OVERALL:
Theres no way this game is going to be a masterpiece like everyone proclaims it would be, nor would it be a flop at all. I went into this game thinking it was going to be a descent game but winded up actually having a fucking blast with it.This game has its cons:lack of storyline and Alex's voice(ughhh) but makes up with fun gameplay and just intense moments in the game. Im going to rate this game a 7 out of 10. Rental only for people who played incredible hulk,spiderman and crackdown and i would go as far to say purchase only to those people who never played the games mentioned before.Yeah its NOT WORTH 60 dollars so wait till it falls into the 30 dollar category.
